Almond, Chocolate, and Date Energy Balls Recipe

Enjoy these homemade energy balls as pre-workout boost, mid-afternoon pick-me-up, or anytime you need a healthy and satisfying snack!

Ingredients:

Make 12-15 energy balls

  • 1 cup Medjool dates

  • 1 cup almonds

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter

  • Pinch of salt

  • Desiccated coconut, for rolling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Blend Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the pitted dates, almonds, cocoa powder, almond butter, and a pinch of salt. Pulse the mixture until it comes together into a sticky dough. If the mixture is too dry, you can add a squeeze of sweetener (such as honey, maple syrup, agave)

  2. Form Balls: Scoop out about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.

  3. Optional Coating: If desired, roll the energy balls in desiccated coconut for extra flavour and texture.

  4. Chill: Place the energy balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. Serve or Store: Once chilled, the energy balls are ready to enjoy! Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
